The Medway Assassins Pee wee (under 12’s) skater hockey team start their first ever league campaign next Sunday in Hastings where they will face the Hastings Crazy Dogs and table toppers Eastbourne Edge.
The Assassins, who’s 2 games will be sponsored by Crest Nicholson Eastern Ltd have been building up a team and training hard for a year now, and are looking forward to the start of their campaign.
With players aged between 5 and 11, coach and ex GB player, Barry Smith has high hopes for his team, who have received generous kit sponsorship from Chertsey Plant Hire and Pantera Carpentry.
Barry says “All the players are so excited to get going and have been training so hard since last year and have all come along way and the standard is very high.
“This coupled with generous sponsorship from a number of companies has helped us form a great team.”
The Assassins aim will be to win the SESHA (South East Skater Hockey Association) league, and represent SESHA at the National finals in November, but there is a long way to go before then, and a lot of hockey to be played.
